About Workshop

The aim of the Alfven 2007 Workshop is to bring together space and plasma physicists, plasma astrophysicists and computational scientists interested in problems related to nonlinear waves and structures, turbulence, and applications of chaos theory and complex systems concepts. The Alfven series of workshops on space environment turbulence is organized by WISER (World Institute for Space Environment Research), which is an international research and training network of centres of excellence dedicated to promote collaboration in cutting-edge space environment research, and training of first-rate space scientists, with emphasis on the application of information technology to theoretical and computational studies of space plasmas and atmospheres, data analysis, and monitoring the impact of space weather and space climate on the Earth's climate, environment and technology.

The meeting will be organized jointly by WISER, the Space Research Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and the University Cardinal S. Wyszynski (UKSW). The meeting will be held on the campus of the University Cardinal S. Wyszynski (UKSW). This place is surrounded by a beautiful natural park (see photo), and located only 20 minutes from downtown Warsaw with public transportation. The proceedings of Alfven 2007 Workshop will be published as a special issue of a leading journal.

In view of an informal forum-like atmosphere, the number of participants is limited to about fifty. All talks will be invited, with equality among attendees. Those interested in attending this meeting please contact the conveners.
